How long does a lava lamp take to warm up?

A Lava Lite lamp takes 2 to 3 hours to reach full flow. The very first run of a new lamp can take up to 6 hours.

Allow the lamps (except 18.5”) to warm up for 2 to 3 hours to ensure it performs at its optimal level.

A room of 68 to 75°F gives the best flow. A cold room or a draft from an air conditioner slows the melt, and the wax may stand as a tall column instead of breaking into blobs.

How long can you leave a lava lamp on?

No more than 10 hours at a time. After that, switch the lamp off and give it 2 to 3 hours to cool before the next run.
